Alexander Cartron, MD
Dr. Alexander Cartron is a board-certified dermatologist with specialized training in medical and surgical dermatology.
He graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Theology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He also received the Eugene Sydney Bereston Award for Excellence in Dermatology and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical and Applied Research. During medical school, he pursued a year of research at the National Institutes of Health in collaboration with the Uniformed Services University, studying rare genetic skin conditions. He completed his internal medicine internship at Mercy Medical Center and his dermatology residency training at Penn State Health, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Cartron is a nationally recognized researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications spanning medical and procedural dermatology. He is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. He sees patients of all ages and is an expert in the treatment of a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, vitiligo, and skin cancer. Outside of work, Dr. Cartron enjoys cooking, gardening, and trying new restaurants in Philadelphia with his husband.
